HOW TO USE
WARNING
Use at your own risk. Read before using product and please keep these instructions for future reference. Ice hockey is a dangerous contact sport. Participation in ice hockey implies the acceptance of some risk of injury. Even the use of a certified face protector will not prevent all injuries. This WARGATE lower face protector offers additional protection to the traditional Straight Visor. Use at your own risk. This WARGATE lower face protector offers no protection against neck, spinal, head and brain injuries. This face protector is not certified under any standards but may reduce the frequency and severity of injuries to the face and the eyes. Do not block a shot or stick with the face protector. If the face protector becomes dented or damaged in any way, replace it. It may not have its full protective capacity if damaged.
USE
Combine this WARGATE lower face protector with a certified compatible Type C visor. Type C visors are intended for use by 18 years old players or older, when playing ice hockey. Not for use by goalkeepers. It is recommended to replace the WARGATE lower face protector after five years of use.
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR OPTIMAL FITTING, EITHER COMPRESS OR EXTEND THE WARGATE SHIELD CAGE ACCORDING TO YOUR HELMET WIDTH. VISOR SHOULD GO OVER THE CAGE. USE 6 MM VISOR SPACERS BETWEEN THE VISOR & CAGE. USE 2MM SPACERS BETWEEN THE CAGE AND THE HELMET
1. Start by inserting the 2 screws provided (1.8cm) into the visor’s slots on one side. Hold with one hand and slide 6mm spacers (provided with visor) before inserting into the cage’s slot (6mm spacers should be placed between visor and cage). Hold all together with one hand and add the 2mm spacers before inserting into the 2 holes of your helmet. Tighten lightly to allow movement and repeat procedure for the other side. Extra 2mm spacers are provided in case a thicker layer is desired between the helmet and cage.
2. Do not over-tighten the screws. Since the desired position of the shield may vary from one user’s face to another, it may be necessary to try different positions along the fixation slot of the shield. We suggest tightening lightly the screws at first to find the most suitable position for you.
3. Place the helmet and face protector secured with the visor on your head.
4. Adjust the shield comfortably and in a secure distance from your chin
5. Insert chin cup onto your helmet strap and secure comfortably under your chin at all times for maximum protection.
6. Align the shield in a fashion where there is little to no distance between the shield and the visor. When the desired position is determined, secure the screws tightly in place by hand using a screwdriver.
7. FOR MAXIMUM COMFORT, PLAYER CAN EITHER EXTEND OR COMPRESS THE WARGATE SHIELD TO ALLOW PERFECT WIDTH IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLAYER’S HEAD AND HELMET WIDTH (SEE OUR ”HOW TO USE” VIDEO
